The Antistatic Filter (Primary Filter) is a main-stage filter for industrial vacuums by Delfin. It can be either a polyester “star” type or a cartridge type, and is designed to trap dust and particles before the air reaches the vacuum’s motor/head.
The antistatic feature uses an internal wire mesh which, when combined with the vacuum’s grounding, prevents the buildup of static electricity. This reduces the risk of sparks – especially important when vacuuming fine or combustible dust.
It’s recommended for applications where dust may be conductive, combustible or prone to static – for example fine dust extraction in industrial plants, manufacturing, powder handling, or other industrial dust removal tasks requiring safe static-controlled suction.
As a “primary filter,” it serves as the first barrier: it collects the bulk of dust and particles, protecting the vacuum motor and preventing most dust from reaching downstream filters. In many setups, it is complemented by a secondary (absolute / HEPA) filter to catch the finest particles.
To maintain its efficiency – especially when dealing with fine dust or heavy loads – the filter should be cleaned regularly. Keeping it free of clogging helps preserve suction performance and ensures continued static-safe operation.
Because the antistatic design enhances safety – reducing static charges that could ignite combustible dust – while still delivering reliable dust collection. This makes it more suitable than a standard filter for industrial environments with conductive or combustible dust, where safety risks are higher.
